PHOENIX (AP) — The man accused of fatally shooting the operator of a speed-enforcement van in Phoenix has been indicted on three charges.

A grand jury handed up the indictment Wednesday against 68-year-old Thomas Patrick Destories.

Destories is charged with first-degree murder, drive-by shooting and shooting a gun at a structure. All three are felonies.

Authorities allege Destories shot and killed 51-year-old Doug Georgianni as he operated a state speed-enforcement van on April 19.

Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas said last week that prosecutors believe the killing was premeditated.

Destories has declined to comment.

Georgianni is survived by his wife Jean, his parents, and six brothers and sisters.
