Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D) has been facing criticism by Democrats who believe that she has been voting too conservatively. She spoke to student veterans at Northern Arizona University’s Veteran Success Center about their transition from service member to student. This is an issue that Sinema said should be non-partisan.
A recent ideology report by GovTrack says Sinema’s voting record has been more conservative than Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R). Despite this, Sen. Sinema said she hopes to move forward without thinking about party lines because everyone should have the chance to pursue the American Dream. With this in mind, student veteran Nick Muñoz said he believes her efforts are enough.
