Arizona has been deemed a swing state in the last couple elections, meaning that the votes could go either way in terms of the Electoral College.
This is compared to states like California, which is usually a Democratic state. Arizona’s swing-state tendency comes from the influence of in-person voters. Republicans usually vote in person, and Democrats tend to vote by mail.
As a result, the 2020 election in Arizona is bound to be close.
Because of this though, results will not be official for a couple days. Close race states will not report official numbers until later this week, but local and state elections should be announced on election day.
