It is now illegal to text, or to hold a phone while talking and driving in Arizona.

Ariizona Governor, Doug Ducey, signed the bill into law Monday, making Arizona one of the last states to ban texting. The move comes after the death of Salt Riiver Police Officer Clayton Townsin, who was killed by a distracted driver in January. Officers will start issuing warnings riight away, but no tickets will be issued until 2021.
