Marine from Flagstaff Killed in Afghanistan

According to the Department of Defense, Broehm, 22, of Flagstaff, Ariz., died Nov. 4 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Washington D.C (NAZ Today) – The US Department of Defense is reporting the line of duty death of Lance Corporal Matthew J. Broehm, 22, of Flagstaff. Broehm was killed on November 4th while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.  He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

The DOD is stating that the incident is under investigation at this time.

Broehm leaves behind a wife and attended Williams High School.
