MESA (AP) — Mesa police are searching for a man who is suspected of fatally shooting his neighbor.
Police say 48-year-old Arturo Garcia was shot Thursday night as he saying goodbye to his longtime friend who also is a former co-worker at a Mesa restaurant.
Authorities have not released the name of the suspected shooter, who fled the scene.
According to Garcia’s family and other witnesses, there were no harsh words or any physical fighting before the shooting. Witnesses say the alleged shooter lives a few doors from Garcia. The man was in his truck and Garcia was standing in the street beside the driver’s door when the shooting occurred.
Garcia was a father of seven, with his children ranging in age from 8 to 29.
