FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today)– After 20 years, the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program will be suspended due to budget cuts.
The program strives to spread drug abuse awareness among fifth graders on the national and local scale. Coconino County Sheriff Bill Pribil says federal, state and local funding cuts impacted his departments programs, and the agency had to cut some to preserve the vital public safety services. Pribil hopes information on avoiding drugs, alcohol, gangs and violence can still be accessable to students, despite the suspension of DARE.
