On Thursday, February 26th, agents from the Metro Narcotics unit in Flagstaff served two search warrants at homes in the Sunny Side neighborhood. The search warrants came about as a result of a month long investigation into a small group of people who are believed to be responsible for a significant amount of the local methamphetamine traffic.
While serving the search warrants Metro officers arrested Pedro Hernandez (44), Maria Salcido (42), and Esteban Chihuahua (42). The three were charged with possession of narcotics for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, use of electronic devices during a drug transaction, possession of drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy to commit the sale of drugs. Currently, the three arrested are being held in the Coconino County jail awaiting their initial appearances and bond hearings.
During the search, the Metro Narcotics unit seized over a half pound of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of approximately $8,500. Three grams of cocaine, heroin, a handgun, two vehicles, and approximately $500 in cash were also seized.
