All June 1 through August 31 blood donors will be automatically entered to win. Eight blood donors’ names will be drawn as finalists throughout the campaign to participate in the September 23 grand prize drawing. The winner will be the proud owner of a 2009 Saturn Aura and will “drive away a hero” to Arizona hospital patients!

During the three-month summer campaign with Saturn, 10-year-old twin brothers Joshua and Jordan are each expected to require two emergency
visits to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for lifesaving blood transfusions. Born with a genetic disorder that causes deformed red blood cells, Sickle Cell Disease, blood donors save their lives about every two months. Through the campaign with Saturn, United Blood Services hopes to motivate people to donate more often this summer – helping more kids like Joshua and Jordan and earning additional chances to win the 2009 Aura. “While donors are generally eligible to give blood every eight weeks, the majority (65%) donate just once a year,” said Audrey Jennings, Executive Director for United Blood Services.
Dan Jonuska, spokesperson for the Arizona Saturn retailers emphasized their dedication to United Blood Services. “Our core mission is built on becoming part of the communities in which we work. We are committed to doing whatever we can to help ensure that Arizona patients and their families can count on an ample blood supply this summer,” said Jonuska. “Saturn believes in putting people first, even after they drive away.”
