A group of volunteers from NAU is lending a helping hand to a local domestic violence shelter

The Hope Cottage women's shelter emphasizes how the little things can help the most. The non-profit is looking looking for toiletry donations that can help women and children.

Director of Sunshine Mission, Stephanie Boardman, says donations such as razors, detergent, shampoo and other items save Hope Cottage and the Mission about $30,000 a year. Sharon Wilcox, Director of Hope Cottage, says they receive generous donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste from a local dentist, but there are many other needs.

NAU Volunteer, Alexandria Giannini, says feminine care donations are also very important. Giannini and other NAU volunteers will be holding a toiletry drive April 1-15. Donatiion boxes can be found on the first and second floors of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Castro Building on the NAU campus.
