Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year, so parents are allowing the fun to start as early as this weekend to avoid the late school night.

SGT Cory Range, a Flagstaff Police Officer, gave a few friendly reminders for this weekend. He says their main concern is traffic, and the kids running around at night. Flagstaff is a dark sky city and the lighting conditions might be a little less than what's available in other areas. Kids wearing dark costumes may be harder to see so he suggests wearing costumes with bright colors or reflective materials, and making sure to carry a light with them.

The Arboretum has another option for family fun this weekend . They are holding free pumpkin carving at Lumberyard Brewing Company on Friday October 26 from 4 to 6 PM. The Arboretum will also have their Fall Festival all day on Saturday October 27.
