Cochonino has now launched a program that will help families in need. Since the program’s initial launched with the 122 churches who have enrolled in Arizona, it has served over 4,000 children. The program is called “Care Portal, and they first launched in 2015 in Pima County. Care portal is in partnership with a bigger project called AZ 127 which help provide a solution to the foster home crisis in Arizona.

Andrew Knight says that Care Portal “connects churches in the community with families in need.” Knight also says that the long-term goal of this program is “for the families to build a long lasting relationship with the churches” so that can eventually rely on the community for support. Care Portal is an online website that allows families to request help from the department of Child safety.
