June 16, 2014 -- NAZ Today's Miguel Alvarez reports on the start of the one-week Andy Harvey Workshop, which gives Native American students broadcast news experience. The workshop is inspired by the legacy of Native American Channel 12 reporter, Andy Harvey.

Channel 12 station manager Mark Casey explains the importance of the workshop. He says the students participating will also get a feel for college life. NAU professor Paul Helford says that teaching students how to tell stories effectively is one of the main goals of the workshop. Channel 12 anchor and reporter Stacia Naquin tells students participating in the workshop what they can expect from the week and broadcast news work in general.
