Local Monuments Waive Fees on Veteran’s Day

Tomorrow, the Flagstaff area national monuments will be joining national park units around the country as they waive entrance fees for all visitors in honor of Veterans Day.
This includes the Grand Canyon, Red Rock, Sunset Crater Volcano, Walnut Canyon, and several more.

Meningitis Case Reported In Flagstaff

The Coconino Health Department has recieved a report of a spinal meningitis case.
The infected woman had been traveling the Greyhound bus from New Orleans through Albuquerque and arrived in Flagstaff on October 27 at 1:20pm.
They are trying to notify potentially exposed persons who may have been traveling on the bus with the ill woman.

Repaving to Close Streets from 66 to Butler

The city of Flagstaff is performing a roadway improvement project next week. There will be partial and full street closures from Route 66 to Butler Avenue for paving.  Paving will be contingent on the weather.
Pedestrians should prepare to find alternative routes or allow extra time throughout the week.

New Developer Takes Over Sawmill Project

RED Development L.L.C. closed escrow today taking ownership, as well as financial responsibility, for the Improvment District Bonds for the Sawmill project. The company is already securing letters of intent  with possible tenants to join Pita Jungle and Wildflower Bread Company.

Sig Hansen, captain and fisherman from Norway, will be coming soon to Northern Arizona University.

ABOR to Meet on Scholarships, Budgets

The Arizona Board of Regents will hold a sheduled publlic meeting, highlighting a discussion on the Regents High Honors Endorsment Scholarship and the AIMS Scholarship.
