NAU Tuition Increase

The presidents of Arizona Universities, ASU the UofA and NAU are proposing “economic recovery surcharges” to make up for cuts in their state funding.

ASU students could see a $1,200 surcharge tacked onto their tuition bills this fall while UA students could pay an extra $1,100 and NAU is seeking a surcharge of $350.

910 Pounds of Marijuana Seized in Benson

Today an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Officer attempted to stop a 2000 Ford Utility truck on Interstate 10 just a few miles west of Benson for speeding. The officer located the vehicle abandoned a short while later with a destroyed oil pan. Located in the truck were 44 bundles of marijuana totaling 910 pounds.

Detention Visiting Hour Changes

With the closure of the Prescott Detention Center on April 1st, 2009, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Detention Services Division, has announced a new inmate visitation schedule for the Camp Verde Detention Facility. No visits will be permitted until April 6th . The temporary suspension of visitation became effective yesterday.
