RCPM invites fans to bring food donations to upcoming show in Flagstaff
FLAGSTAFF (NAZ Today) – Arizona’s iconic Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers have partnered with the Northern Arizona Food Bank to help raise food donations prior to and during the band’s performance at the Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff on Sept. 12. Each fan that brings a non-perishable food donation of at least three items to the show will be entered to win a special meet-and-greet with RCPM, as well as merchandise and prizes. The meet-and-greet winner will be drawn and announced sometime during the show and the meet-and-greet will take place 20 minutes following the band’s set.
As part of the promotion, a pair of tickets to the RCPM show were raffled off at the NAFB/Blood Drive event at the Safeway on Highway 89 on July 30th, and an additional ticket raffle is planned for the Flagstaff Gun Show on August 22nd & 23rd.
“With demand for emergency food assistance up by over 110 percent compared to 2008, Northern Arizona Food Bank is very excited to be working with Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers,” Amanda Pickering of the Northern Arizona Food Bank said. “We are extremely grateful for the band’s continued support and generosity.”
“Let’s all pitch in a little to fill our neighbors’ cupboard,” Clyne says of the food drive. “Surely, as we do so, our own hearts will overflow!”
To make regular food donations, contact the Northern Arizona Food Bank (3805 E. Huntington Dr. – Flagstaff – 928-526-2211 – www.nafoodbank.org). Greenhouse Productions Presents Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers with Whiskey Rodeo at the Orpheum Theater (15 W. Aspen) in Flagstaff on September 12th at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.). Fronted by Roger Clyne with drummer P.H. Naffah, lead guitarist Jim Dalton and bassist Nick Scropos, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers are the only independent band to debut in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Internet Sales chart for six consecutive albums, including two #1 entries. Clyne & Naffah enjoyed an accomplished stint with The Refreshments, the late-90s rock band whose cult-classic album Fizzy Fuzzy, Big & Buzzy produced the hit singles “Banditos” and “Down Together.” Clyne wrote and performed with The Refreshments the theme song for the hit cartoon King of the Hill. The band also wrote and recorded “Dbacks Swing,” the official theme song of the Arizona Diamondbacks – a homerun with Diamondbacks fans everywhere.
“Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers (RCPM) are proof that the crazy, reckless, restless, swaggering soul of American rock is still burning a hole in the night sky…guitars blaze, quake and quiver, drums slip, thud and thunder with killer melodies and hooks and the occasional reggae or mariachi rhythm laced through the middle to keep it all honest and interesting.” – Tom Jurek, Paste Magazine
